Anyone have experience with the new Exmark Lazer Advantage? I got one a brand new one today and it will not start. It started fine at the dealer's shop. I started it up and drove it on my tralier with no problems. Got home and it would not start again. I will take it back tomorrow for them to look at, but want to save a 60 mile round trip if I can. It is not any of the safety devices. It has fuel and I made sure the fuel line was not shut off. It turns over but will not start. It may be something simple that I overlooked. Any suggestions? This mower is the 20HP Kohler. Thanks!

No idea, but hopefully someone else will.

Check the fuses maybe???

Here's a bump to the top :-)

is it a new style, next generation unit?

if so, there are having some choke linkage/cable issues with some of the next gen lazers. the cable has a little to much throw versus what the kohler engine needs and puts to much stress on the kohler choke plastic linkage bushing and can cause it to pop out. when that happens you now have no choke and the unit wont cold start. Exmark is aware of the issue and your dealer should have recvd a product bulletin on it so if that is the problem they should know how to take care of it.

Check the tab where the choke cable connects at the engine. It may be off. If so the choke is not moving just the cable.

It is a next generation unit. Thanks for that. I will check and see if that is the problem.

Never over look the obvious. :) However, it cranks but doesn't start. All of the above will prevent it from cranking.

In this case, I think he may have found the problem with Vipers suggestion. If the choke cable has popped off, you should be able to bump the choke plate closed to get it started. Once and if it starts, push the choke off manually. After that, take it back to the dealer and have them straighten it out.

Well it was the choke after all. Thanks so much for the input and advice. The plastic clip did fall off.
