After I started the engine on my Walker Mower, I pushed the "go" lever forward and only my right wheel turned. The left wheel made a sort of "straining" sound and didn't even budge. And the same thing happened when I tried to pull the left turn handle back. the right one worked fine but the left wouldn't budge and it made that sound again. After a while it eventually worked after just working it back and forth and lifting the lid up and greasing some areas around it. But I wanted to ask Does anyone know what might have caused this? and is it a serious problem that might pop back up in the future?

Probably just because it needed grease< sometimes mine does that, I would just back it up and than it goes forward.

If there is binds in that linkage it will result in the unit not driving forward. But if it failed to drive when you pulled back in reverse that is not good. You need to be sure the hydro belts are tight and the pulley is not loose on that side.....left. Have you checked it for leaks on left side and is oil level correct?

Parking brake? There's a plunger that goes into the hydro, I think it holds the gear inside. Sometimes the plunger will stick down, that's why you sometimes have to goose it in reverse slightly to get it to release one side to travel forards. Perhaps your plunger was stuck down, or the spring that keeps it held up is broken/bent/weak.
