I have a family friend thats looking for a new mower. 21" self propelled. He wants it to be his last mower, hes 40 ish. I was thinking a honda, toro, or JD. The ones with a cast aluminum or plastic deck. Price range would be under $1000. How does the honda plastic deck compare to a cast aluminum deck?

The Toro Super Recycler is absolutely the best. Mulch, side discharge,or rear bag. 5 year warranty. About $550. It's a Great Muching Mower. I have it, last mower I expect to buy.

what engine comes on the super recycler? flat head briggs or intek?
I saw the super bagger comes with a honda ohc.
Does JD no longer make a cast aluminum deck mower, all I saw was the JS25, JS35, and JS45. all steel decks. what happened to the JS63 and JS8_, those were aluminum decks?

Toro Commercial 21 with a honda and bbc. It will probably be over $1000 though. They make the best 21.

Manual calls it "L-Head" engine. It's a Briggs, Manual cover says 5 year Full Warranty, GTS Engine Promise-"Guaranteed to Start on the first two pulls for 5 years or Toro fixes it free"
I've had it 2 years and not a lick of trouble, Rear wheel drive Personal Pace. Everything about it is like it was new. Cost me about $550 from dealer, Looks like the last 21" mower I'll ever have to buy.
