Guys, had a ProMax UA fail yesterday. I didnt see or mess with it, Jerry told me he plugged it in and it beeped 3 times indicating death. He said he troubleshooted for a while but gave up. Now I know things happen but this is ridiculous, we had just sent this one and mine off for repairs/refreshing back in the fall/winter. So now it decides to take a dump during our busiest time and only a few months after spending $200 bucks to have it gone through.

It was dropped off at the distributor and will be sent back again. Should I contact RM myself and ***** a bit? I dont think I should pay for this repair personally..

How old is it?

Just an FYI for everybody. Got this from a fellow user. If you send your RM UA in make sure you send it in with only RM parts and cables. If you have for example a TRC cable or one you've put together they will use that as an excuse to void the warranty. I think that stinks. A pigtail properly installed and built is nothing more than a glorified extension cord. That would be like DEWALT not honoring a warranty because you used a non-dewalt extension cord. TRC does not pull this BS and they actually give you the pin code to build your own pigtails. I'd try it sometime and you'll appreciate the value of a well built inexpensive (to me at least) pigtail.

I thought the beeping indicated battery failure. Usually the batteries will last a few years, even under daily use. :dizzy:

3 beeps = failed internal diagnostic test....

Then what? Send it in only option?

3 beeps = failed internal diagnostic test....

After replacing the battery, there is no option other than to send it back to RM.

Got the remote back Friday, I am very impressed with the quick turn around on this. Rainmaster said they were extremely backed up with repairs when I sent it in however they were able to get it back to me within two weeks. They replaced a transformer and amplifier. Best part of it all they did not charge me for the repairs.

If they say they are that backed up with repairs, that tells me there are lots of failures in the units at the moment. Bad repair center maybe?

Be sure and check it out Chris. I've had to send things back for failure to repair properly.
Also anytime you send something in to RM its not a bad idea to get some spare screws for the pad that covers the battery. After getting chewed up a few times it is really tough to get the phillips to bite.

I'm not sure if it is the number of remotes or a small repair department. The remote is one of the more abused tools out there. Especially the RM since it gives you a sense of durability that it may not meet.

They have a small repair facility, mostly 'cause very little goes wrong with RM products. I am not a rep.
