Just got a deere magazine that showed a new model from Deere the CT315. Maybe I am a day late on this but haven't seen anyone talking about it on here yet. From the specs on it, it seems a little low on the HP and lift breakout force. Seems like a good competition for the Takeuchi TL220 or TL230 and Cats 247. I would have thought they would have tried to make it not as wide more like the new Bobcat model for more compact work. What do you all think? Anyone tried one yet?

Went into the local dealer to demo one couple weeks ago. was getting ready to load it on the trailer and salesman said why do you go run it over there on our dirt pile first to see how you like it. It seemed odd at the time but sure glad I did....thing is a pos. It does not compare to tk 130 or cat 247. on a side note I was very impressed with the ct 322.

why would Deere put something out that was so bad. Even if they were just wanting people to wait for the new series, why would they even bother putting out this machine if it was so bad. I mean it seems to me like a waste of time...Am I wrong?

The CT315 seems to spec very similar to the T140, but with a turbo and lighter ground pressure. I wouldn't think Deere or any company would be building a machine like this aiming for a homeowner market, since that is what, 1% of the sales?
I haven't run one, but would be curious what the issues were when it was demo'd.
From what I have heard, the small frame machines aren't changing anytime soon. The mid and large frames are the ones that will be updated.

I think you must've meant the TAK 120/130 as there's no possibility that Deere wants you to think the 315 would compete with the TAK 140 machines. There is a large gap between the 315 specs and the 140/240 from TAK.

I think he was talking about the T 140 as in the small bobcat CTL.

Ahhh, yes that could be. I really do not ever remember the Boobie T140 machine in their product offering. I guess since its so small and incapable that it just slips my mind.

Some of the small stuff has small numbers that make them seem incapable but anything is better then a shovel and a wheel barrel sometimes.:) My personal favorite is walk behind units such as Ditch Witch and they have tiny buckets and tiny numbers but get a job done very nicely compared to my back going out.

Yeah, that's what I was referring to. See a few of them around here. Concrete guys, small landscapers, rental yards seem to find use for them.

the bobcat T110 has good numbers for a small machine should compete well with the asv 30

I do not think I've ever seen a 140 anywhere but on Bobcat's lot. I agree it is certainly better than a shovel/barrow.
There are lots of places that smaller machines do good work and I think the ASV RC30 along with the DW 650 and Dingo 525 wide track are good examples. I also think those machines are absolutely perfect for the small 1-2 man operations-you can make some decent money with that.
I see those on jobsites with some frequency.

That T110 is almost a ton heavier than the ASV and it should bury the RC30. Each of the T110 tracks is two inches narrower than the RC30 as well (9" vs 11"). That's narrower than most skid steer tires. At least they put a decent displacement engine in it. It's actually bigger than the T140:confused:

I don't really think the T110 and the ASV RC30 compete head to head other than the width because of their operating weights and engine horsepowers but I was curious about the machine size and hp so I divided the machine weights of 3 machines by their engine hp to get a weight to hp ratio-
ASV PT30- 3305lbs/33.7hp= 98lbs of weight for every 1hp
Bobcat T110- 5202lbs/41.8hp= 124lbs for every 1hp
Bobcat T140- 6660lbs/49hp= 136lbs for every 1hp
I know there are benefits to good weight to hp ratios but the merits could be argued for ever. For what its worth the ASV PT30 has the best ratio :weightlifter:
