View Full Version : Trailer Cage / Box
Selling a Trailer cage that measures 78" long and 2'x2' wide. Used it for one week and decided I didn't like the extra weight. Payed $433.00 for it , will take $325 or best offer. Looks a little dirty in the pictures because it was laying on its side and its been raining but looks brand new in person because it is. I put 3/4 plywood inside for stuff to sit on but it has the same expanded metal underneath the wood.

How much would you say it weighs?
Where did it come from? I've been looking for one but can't find any resources.
If the extra weight is a big factor I may have to re-think this.
What are you pulling your trailer with?
I bought it at a trailer dealer here in town.
Its 6 1/2 feet long and it was mounted on 5x12 tandem axle trailer. I bought the larger box for the extra storage capacity.
When I said I didn't like the extra weight I meant the total weight I added to an already heavy trailer being pulled by an f150 and the gas mileage already was bad. The trailer had a 42" wright stander, 3 21" toros, trimmer rack and trimmers, 3 blowers, 2 hedge trimmers, ect. The cage by itself probably weights somewhere around 125 lbs. The trailer pulled fine but the f150 was too slow for me. I went back to my single axle 5x10 for easier towing.
All my previous trailers have had the cage and they are good for storage, securing equipment, and to keep thieves away.
I will say I'm very tired of pulling trailers after all these years, maybe someday I'll ditch the trailer and go with an open or enclosed cabover.
Right now I have for sale:
42" wright stander - $2700 obo
2008 5x12 tandem axle with new tires, buddie bearings, 5 1/2 dual spring assisted gate, and with less than 500 miles on it. - $1350 obo
Locking trailer cage - $325 obo
Make me an offer for one or all

I would say sold on the cage but you're just a little to far away from me.
