Well my 300 hr zd21 is acting up. She tends to want to bog unexpectedly. Sometimes when i am mowing over my previous cut, sometimes not?? I just serviced this machine completely, new oil, air, both fuel filters, trans fluid, etc...Any ideas? Thanks in advance..

Is this just happening during high load situations or any other times?

It is initially brought on by high load situations. I attempted to alleviate the stress by slowing down, typical reaction. This worked for a few passes, then speed reduction did not seem to help. As mowing progressed i began disengaging the blades when she would load up, again, worked for a short time. I brought the mower in and cleaned the radiator screens and replaced the air filter (new in box) and was able to finish up. Deck was prob 8/10 as far as being clogged, but as i stated earlier disengaging did not seem to help. Could it be a fuel issue? I allowed the mower to get down around the empty mark but not completely out of fuel.

Ok now you will need to clarify that for me, are you saying that is how clogged the underside of your deck is with grass, with 10 being the most? What is the height of the grass that you are cutting and is it wet or dry and what height are you cutting it to?
Oh yeah last question is this mower a 3 cylinder gas and 60" cut? Sorry just not familiar with the Kubota mower it self, but have a customer with similar engine on a grasshopper 725

Sorry for the confusion. Started mowing at 2 p.m grass completely dry. I am mowing bermuda grass approx 3-4" tall. Cutting height at 2.75". There are some broadleaf weeds and a small amount of clover mixed in with the bermuda. When i serviced the mower i pressure washed the underside of the deck free of any and all debris. The mower has the Kubota model d782 3 cyl diesel engine, 60 " pro deck. I threw the spark plug comment in there because i thought my thread was only visible to me. I should not have "thought" perhaps that was my first mistake. For what it's worth, the fuel i am using is contained in a bulk storage tank for our generator. We have 5000 gallons in the tank and it is around 3 years old. We maintain this fuel religiously, or so we like to think, and it has not caused any problems with the operation of our generator. Thought it was worth mentioning.

Ok now we are getting somewhere not sure what you are doing as far as maintenance but here is a C/P from Exxon concerning long term storage of diesel fuel.
How long can I store diesel fuel?
If you keep it clean, cool and dry, diesel fuel can be stored 6 months to 1 year without significant quality degradation. Storage for longer periods can be accomplished through use of periodic filtrations and addition of fuel stabilizers and biocides.
May you should try some fresh diesel in your mower before going any further just to rule it out.

Hey Medic, it was the fuel filter ahead of the fuel pump. I guess when i let the mower run low on fuel i guess some debris got loose and clogged the brand new filter. I removed the line between this filter and the pump and got a tiny trickle of fuel, after replacing the filter got a full 5/16" stream of diesel all down my arm. Thanks a bunch for your help, sometimes it just helps to step back and regroup!

Good man I'm glad to hear you got it figured out, I would still try and use up as much of that 3yr old diesel as quickly as possible. I don't know how much of the 5000gal tank you have left but that may take a while:laugh:
