Well, as many of you may know, I was trying to get into the local utility to be a linemen. I GOT IN!!!! The interview went well and they made an official offer. I have accepted it. I am tentatively starting on the Tuesday after Memorial Day. High poles and High Voltage....Here I come.

I would like to thank everyone on Lawnsite for all the help over the years. I would not be where I am today without your help. I have learned so much and enjoyed this site so much. I will still be a regular on here, as I would like to give back as much as you guys have given me. I still plan to keep a small portion of my business. Once your hands are green, your hooked for life. Thanks again, and Keep in touch.
Jared

Congrats man. One of my best friends went to work with the local EMC the same time I got on with FD. He really likes it.

Congrats !!! I have a guy that climbs for me when we do tree work who is a lineman and my stepbrother is a lineman. It is a serious job both physical and mental. I asked one time, "why do they wear a hard hat if they are in danger of falling?" the answer was " the hardhat has a strap on it and it is for when they get blwon out of the bucket" I though whoa man thats got to be rough !!! Good luck

Congrats Jared...you've got to be alright as you like the color orange in your equipment too!

And one other thing, don't get the nickname "Sparky".

It is one hell of a tough job. That is what draws me to it. Not only is the money there, but it challenges you every day. Alot of my friends are linemen. Hopefully I wont be blown out of the bucket anytime soon.

HAHA. They say that everyone dances with the devil at least once. Besides...its only a few thousands volts. :dizzy::dizzy:

Yes. But the pay steps progress pretty quickly.

I will never forget lawnsite. Once I am setted in the new job, I will be making a few trips to the shore. I'll let you know when I'm coming.
