well i am a free man...just took my last college final...graduate on the 15th, doing the road trip from the 18th-26th...2 weeks off, then start the new gig on June 8th....

I hope to start a new thread with all the pictures I accumulate with the new job (those of you on HEF might know what I am talking about, I will be working with a few of the PA guys...you figure out which ones), it might be a few weeks...the first couple weeks at the new place are all about safety, OSHA courses and company courses and all that jazz, then hopefully sent into the field rather then the office

in the first 2 years I will get a rotation...design, estimating, scheduling, field work, etc.. so I hope to learn a lot

as as soon as I get my diploma I am official E.I.T.!!

well off to have my first beer as a free man

Know the feeling well-twice. I heard the Master's call several years later.

Enjoy. Congrats.

Congrats Digger, I'm sure that is a great feeling. I'm guessing an even better feeling is having a job in this junk of an economy. Only two more years and hopefully I'll be posting the same news as you. I'm pretty sure I know what company you're going with from HEF, but I'll let you introduce that. Good luck.

At this time next year it sounds like I can post a similar comment as well. One more year and school should be over!

thanks guys for the words...

to those of you that are soon-to-be graduates good luck...hopefully the market will be more accepting of you in a year, I still have a lot of job-less friends that have all but given up on the hunt for now

but for me it is bittersweet...can't wait to start with this new company, but then again I hate to leave this atmosphere behind, never again will i have all my friends in such a close proximetry

Congrats man, on to bigger and better things for sure. You'll definately be an asset to the company, an engineer who can actually run iron and isn't an idiot in the field. I'm sure you'll be just fine, best of luck.

I regret not being able to finish my degree last year like I had planned, my initial apprenticeship training didn't allow me to take spring quarter. In time I'd like to say I'll be done with school, however I'm not sure exactly when I'll have the time or funds to get it done. Fighting to survive at this point.

DirtDigger........good on ya! A commendable accomplishment.........As far as friends go, the "real ones" will be there in thick or thin even as time marches on. Time for some adventures! If you are ever in this neck of the woods, give a holler and we will get KSSS to drive down and buy the beverages and grubs!

Yea but you have run down to the County store, shoeless, up hill both ways, to get to the switch board phone. I'll bet you will get tired of the walk before I get tired of the calls.:clapping:
