Kohler 23 keeps missing

Hi, I have a exmark laser mower with a kohler command pro 23 engine. Today it started missing or at least thats what it sounds like.

What can I check??? Does anyone have any ideas to throw at me?

I would start with pulling the plugs and cleaning or replacing them. If it is still missing check for spark on both sides.

Yep, I checked that, even put in new plugs, the spark is good on both sides.... I have noticed a little black smoke on startup, I am thinking maybe its running to rich??? I dunno

Were the plugs nice and black. Most likely just have a dirty air filter

Yes, they were VERY black. I will check the air filter today.

FYI: This is a used mower that I bought last week. Its an 2004, and it ran fine at first but this problem stated after a 4 hours of mowing.

i have a similar problem on mower i just bought. i tried draining the fuel and putting new gas in...the guy i bought it from may have not put stabalizer in it over the winter. but, this hasnt helped. so im goona be checkin the plugs cause the engine is missing and wanting to cut out.
When i engage the blades the engine dies or wants the die too. Im guessing this is spark plug issue?
