garden tractor blowing smoke, sucking oil

i have a jd g100 garden tractor that is blowing gray smoke, and i was wondering if theres a way to fix it. it has been regularly maintained and has a 25hp kohler v-twin. its about 6 years old. any help is appreciated. thanks.

Kohlers have a habit sometimes of throwing smoke after startup,
although it should clear up within few minutes.
