Oh yeah....After Kaiser's post on laying golden eggs in the "Lawnworks" thread about buying equipment for nothing, I decided I needed to find Willy Wonka's supplier and set myself up.
Twenty-one more payments and they are all mine, mine, mine, mine. Sorry guys, its a closed market now.

Never tried them. What's wrong with chicken eggs? Don't like having to crack so many shells for just one omelet?

What do you want to know?
We have Muscovy ducks in our lake and I usually just pull the eggs as they lay but they keep moving the nests on me.
I have some geese as well, but I am trying to hatch them. The Geese eggs are huge.
Just trying to figure out a way to keep a steady supply of eggs.
The Duck eggs have a much better taste and they are very good for you.

Oh good old Muscovy ducks. If you keep pulling eggs they will keep laying eggs. These birds aren't as sensitive as other birds so when you "disturb" them on their nest and rob their eggs they view that as a lost and lay more eggs. I don't know too much about this end (I breed so disturbing is a no no) but as long as you can keep track of the nests they will keep laying eggs. Sometimes you have to be careful because egg development and laying is very taxing on the bird and it can seriously burn them out. The larger the clutch the more energy it takes to develop and lay the eggs. Chickens aren't too bad because they don't always pop out as much as ducks do. Are you having a problem w/ them not laying consistently or you just having issues keeping track of the nests?

They lay good for about a week or so and then they always seem to move the nest or possibly critters are forcing the move?
Then by the time a find it again they have started sitting full time to hatch the eggs.
I understand the eggs will not start the growing stage till after the duck starts sitting on them.
If I could persuade them to nest in a certain spot then it would be easier to control them.
I was also told to use non medicated laying mash to help keep them healthy.
I also have 2 hens that lay and nest together each year. They raise the baby ducks together as well.

I think you just need to get a set up for them that controls where they nest and that way you can monitor them so they don't start to incubate the eggs and start the growing process of the embryo. Otherwise they will have various disturbances (you, predators etc) that will force them to want to abandon the nest and relocate to a safer place.
