Im just wondering. I thinking it would save some time on blowing when grass is shooting all over the place.

i use to have one on, it seems like the grass clumped alot more, but now i leave the mulch kit on, but take the chute plate off and it does a good job.

I use one year round on my deere. On the few occasions I can't mulch will use my exmark with the bagger or just throw it. When I finish with a yard looks as good as if it were bagged when I mulch.

I was looking at the kit online it runs for $270. Is it just blades? What are the other pieces for? here is a pic

The one I bought came with everything including blades. I have an extra one that came off my old 717 minus the blades I met let go. Also have one with blades less than a month old for an exmark lazer hp 48" deck I would cut lose. It is still in original box. The one I bought for my 717 was around 175 years ago but the exmark one was around 265, they are proud of their parts.

The extra pieces are to bolt in under the decka nd continue the baffles. My Deere is so old that they didn't make the kit for it at all. So when I start mulching it tends to leave a trail out the rigth side.

Get your self an ocdc, this will improve your production, save the extra wear and tear on your machine, blades. deck, and engine...

I would say yes, but sucks on WET grass. More clumping and sometimes have to double cut, depending on length.

Operated control discharge chute.

you will be able to open the chute and close at will,

NOW PLS UNDERSTAND: these are NOT mulching devices. by keeping the clippings and such under the deck longer it can work Like a mulcher. But it's NOT a true mulcher.

I just let it fly. We blow the walks and driveway anyway, so no big deal. You learn quickly how to not shoot clippings into beds. However, some customer insist on bagging.

I cut a way overgrown lawn today. Two passes, once at 6", and again at 4". Nice sharp blades, no clumps, no mess, no bag. The trimmer made the biggest clippings mess.

I use one during the fall to help with the leaves. During spring the grass is growing to fast to mulch, it leaves the lawn looking rough. In the summer the grass is growing slow enough to where a mulching blade/kit isn’t needed.

thanks for the input. will a ocdc with mulching blades be the best of both worlds? and will mulching blades cut the same as regular blades if used on a regular mower?
