On my 21" commercial duty lawnboys I can turn up the governor a little and they seem to cut and vac better ????
On my exmark 36" metro w/12.5 kaw, can I turn up the governor (if it has one) and make it mow and vac better?

my exmark seems like its running under speed not giving a clean cut i need to raise speed on it havnt put a tach on it but pretty sure its low iom looking for same thing
All manufacturers have a recommended maximum rpm rating for their equipment. Check with your dealer to see if they can peek it out. I just peeked my 60" kohler, took less than 5 minutes.

I have a 17hp kawasaki turf tracer, and it was almost 1000 rpms low when bought new. I did not like the way the machine was cutting, so I took it to a mower mechanic and he checked it, sure enough, it was 960 rpms slow. He adjusted it up and it has been much better. This is not hard to do, but you need a good tach.
The rpms might be low, but the problems with it not picking up leaves< I guess that is what you mean. I had a lot ob blowout from under the deck, and switched to exmark mulching blades while bagging, and they do a real good job. On my lazer, I use a solid foil blade and it really sucks them up, no blowout. Mabey you can use a soild foil(has no u notch in the blade, and not a lot of lift) on your mower.
