It will be a pain in the next. I tried it for a week or so. What model are you talking about?

others disagree:
the hand held tiller is awesome, tons of power. 26cc power head, i also have the extended reach hedge trimming that goes on there too. buying the combo was a better deal than 2 separate units since we only use the tiller in spring and fall for color plantings. extended hedge trimmer only a few times a month.

I bought a PAS-230 4 years ago along with a edger attachment, not once have I taken it to get a tune up, it still runs perfect.

Bought the hedge trim attachment about a year ago, it makes it really easy it to get a straight hedge. I consider the break apart trimmer the best purchase I have made for the business.
I have had observing homeowners who do their own lawns ask if they could purchase it from me and i just cant give it up after all this time, light as a feather too.

I dont care how many times I hear "the break-down model isnt for pros"; Wrong. I doubt I will ever buy another single use handheld, if the power head breaks I could replace it and still have all my tools.

I'm just a homeowner landscaper but I love my Echo split shaft and variety of attachments.

I love echo to be honest with you. I do recommend putting in a grease nipple at the trimmer head though. I wouldn’t bother buy an edger. I bought one and used it like 5 times in the last 3 years. I know there are a lot of people that swear by an edger but in my opinion a trimmer edges much prettier. I have a lot of customers that don’t like me using an edger after they seen our edging done with a trimmed. Plus you can do all different type of edging with a trimmer that you can’t do with an edger.

The only real plus in my eye with an edger is a new lawn that has never been edge before. But..some people simply can not learn how to edge with a trimmer.
