Snapper ztr wb why so slow

So I've been using a ztr Snapper 52 inch 18hp briggs and straton walk behind, and I must say its been doing a great job and I'm happy with it, the only thing I dislike about it is its lousy speed. It goes a fairly fast walking pace. Since I have a sulky I wish I could go faster.

I can't quite understand why its not faster, I see tons of other wbs that are even 14 hp 52 and 18hp 52 inch and they go up to a sprinting pace. I'm just curious to know why my mower doesn't reach these speeds?

Maybe it is because Snapper has determined that they can not get a good cut with their deck at faster speeds.

To my understanding Snapper has always made slow'ish mowers,
but they make a good machine, I wouldn't let it bother you too much.
