Nice! T800's are workhorses. They make great trucks for Tenders.

ARP....I want action too. Need it. Two years ago the previous owner bought the truck for $68k and spent another $25k on the AR500 rock bed. I got it for about 1/3. Needs a little work here and there, but it will sure beat the heck out of a bobtail........that is the hope anyways. Now, where's the work?

The work is coming- supposedly . I jest- you've done fine in the past and you will do fine in the future. Just keep thinking optimisically. How are those trucking jobs coming along?

Sounds like you got a killer deal on that truck there. I'll definitely be interested to see how you make out with that rig.

Kitty Cat 430 hp, chalmers suspension..........getting new steer tires friday. the ones on it are mismatched - one is barely legal. just had the butt plate put on with air and two different electrical outlets.........sheesh, it's expensive just sitting there.

The C-13 Cat isn't too bad you will find with a full load it will be a little slow. I know a contractor that had a T-800 with C-13 power and 430hp he got rid of the truck because it wasn't enough power.

Truck looks good I know you will need a crying towel for the super singles. You don't really want to buy the cheap ones because if you have a wobbler you can't balance them.

One of the trucking outfits I know I said to him don't buy the cheap super singles. Well he didn't listen the tires wouldn't run smooth he ended up going with Bridgestones I said to him told you so and

The Chalmers suspension rides fairly decent.

You straight pipe a C-13 the Jake has a decent bark to it

I think you will be fine but if you were pulling a transfer trailer or a tandem axle pup trailer it would be slow.

For what you got for the price you got a good deal. Now you need to add some color to it so the customers remember you.

430 hp is a lot of hp in a dump truck. Here we rely on the transmission and rear end. Any thing above this hp when put in a bind usually means something is going to break.IMO

RSG- How many miles on it, and did you have a certain mileage that you didn't want to go over?

Here a 430hp is low horsepower especially a truck with a C-13 which is a small engine. The Cat 13 is good the C-15 is better it is nice to have 515hp.

Just different ways of spec'ing trucks for different areas.

The way the T-800 is set up is for max payload. Load it up to max gvw you will feel it on any grade. With a 8LL and full gears have to make the gear drops and upshifts carefully with a load. Too bad the truck didn't have a 18spd.

The T-800s are good trucks lots of aftermarket stuff for them if you wanted to p*mp the truck.

I would agree that 475 horses would definately be nice, but 425 will suffice. My buddy drives a near new T800 that's pushing 525 horses and is an 18 speed, although he runs with a pup, he says he can't run out of juice in that truck if he tried.

Truck only has 250,000 miles on it, so my thinking is it is a low mile truck. One of the reasons I considered it is that my mechanic knows and works on the truck and the owner is good about lube and maintenance.

Nice rig! The guy that does my trucking started to get rid of his high HP trucks a few years ago, he said that the drivers would run them around like sports cars, wasting fuel when they were empty, I went with a driver to show him where to dump a few years back, after he dumped I asked him to run her hard, I could not believe how fast that thing accelerated. I like your box, looks like a skid could dump in there easy.

Yeah, that truck is perfect specs for me. I might vote that truck purchase of the year.

on a side note, why cant they make cars and passenger trucks like they make full size trucks... I mean whens the last time someone with an f150 said, 'it's only got 250,000 miles on it'
