Hey I have a request to prune a huge 20-30' Prunus serrulata 'Kwanzan'. I'm a certified nursery & landscape professional with a 2 year degree and over 8 years experience and I gave the price of $300 at a rate of 50/hr with a $50 dump fee. (im doing it solo)

Am I in the ball park, out of the ball park let me know? Keep in mind Im crown raising, reducing and thinning, while removing dead, crossing, touching, inward growth, collecting and choping up then dumping.

Thanks!

Well, I used to charge $150 to maintain the 50 foot wide Mt. Fuji in the attached photo. With no hauling. Just the pruning.

So you might be close to the right price. Took me a bit over 1 hour of actual pruning time with 1/2 hour drive time.

Sounds like yours is twice as tall maybe. Having done some the size you described, they are usually a 2 hour tree for the pruning time. Maybe an hour of cleanup.

Regardless of time spent, the dollar total is in the ballpark.

Fantastic prune job there mdvaden.

Slcareco, sounds like you are in the right ball park. I love when customers let me do "proper" ornamental care. Unfortunately it is few that want this service.

Great, yeah alot of these customers need to be educated a lil on why proper pruning is necessary I think instead of having an idiot make everything a headge in the summer lol

Thanks guys!
