Your buddy could haul your little Bobby on his trailer and save you some coin if the two of you work on the same job sites.
Hell, that 50D can pick it up and swing it on the deck without even taking the chains off.

Your kidding right?
Thats what I was thinking?
I would say a 10ton trailer with a 12k machine behind a 250 is pushing it, but it can do it..
It is nice though! I wanna run a Deere machine so bad..

Nice pics! Are you using any other attachments on the 463 besides the bucket and forks? Just wondering since the MT52 supposedly runs the same attachments as the 463.

Flair, I forgot to ask you one thing, how come you have the trailer tilted slightly for loading or unloading?
And do you ever plan on getting a larger trailer for say both the 323 you spoke of in the future? Like a 18 or 20ft between the axle?

Just some airbags would level it nicely.
A F350 would be perfect. If it's like Chev the only difference between the SRW 2500 and SRW 3500 is 1 leaf in the leaf spring and a sticker on the door. All axle part numbers, gearing is the same. So add airbags and you are just fine for level towing.
I don't know if Ford is like that but it's not just about the model numbers. Besides some duallys actually give up GVWR because they add some weight for the dually's. But them double tires are nice insurance.

Some of you guys worry so much about whats pulling the equipment I don't know how you ever get any work done LOL Anyhow my wifes f-250 has the same spring pack axles frame and brakes that my father-inlaws f-350 has

I never had problems pulling my Bobcat 843 with my 1990 F250. That old diesel engine has plenty of pull and the trailer has good brakes. As mentioned above my friend's F350 has the same leaf springs that I have and it's a crew cab. Those mini-Bobcats are so cute, and I am always baffled by concept of rolls of sod. Generally grass here come in slabs and even the 843 had a hard time picking up a full pallet.

I wanna run both..
There were a couple 50's running around at school doing the grading for the new building, they look to be decent machines from far away, never even had the oppurtunity to get upclose on a Deere machine..

cddva - I also have a post hole auger for the machine, the more I use this machine, the more I fall in love with it! Its crazy what its capable of!
Junior M - I dont think I'll be getting a bigger trailer for a while, and probably wont get a mini ex till at least next year! I think I'd actually be able to fit both a small mini ex and this bobcat on the trailer together, I've done it with a small mini before
About my buddy - He just bought the 50D this year and loves it. He's got 5 different buckets for it, including a 48" power swivel bucket. Its perfect for pools. He's also got a 35D, and a 325 skidsteer. He's not doing too bad for being 24 to say the least!!

I've never seen the slabs around here. How many square ft can you fit on a skid using slabs? A skid of sod here carries 700 sq ft, or 70 rolls.

We use slabs and they'll cover 500 sq ft.
And I figured it wouldnt be this year, I was just curious..

I'd love to have a 323 or something like that sooner, but I just paid of the 463, so now I gotta do some saving again! Also, I gotta focus on buying property instead of equipment all the time.

Are you talking about similiar model years?
My F350 has more springs and a higher (rear)GAWR then my F250 does

yep his is an 02 mine is an 03 of course the door tags are different but if you measure the springs and count them they are exactly the same crew cabs with single rear wheels

Of course I can't find the site now, but just last week I saw a page laying out the differences between F-250 and F-350 for this era truck. I've got a 2003 350 SRW and that page states there are only two differences between the 350 and the 250 for that year: 2" more lift in the blocks, and a higher GVWR on the sticker. All the part numbers for springs and axles are the same between the two.
That being said, I think the F350 Duallie might be available with a larger axle? That was my impression but I didn't study the duallie info thoroughly and I don't feel like researching it this morning. Mine has the 10.5 Sterling Ford axle in it. I think a Dana 80 might be available (or standard even?) on the DRW models but this is just conjecture.
So I think the 250s are pretty capable trucks, although it is nice to have that extra 1100 lbs of GVWR on the sticker in case the man ever stops you.

Sorry Junior, forgot to answer your first question.. the trailer deck was still tilted because I had three skids of sod in there before, so to help the first two slide to the back easier, I tilted the deck, and then unloaded them from the back of the trailer. Tilting the deck actually does lower the ramps making it nicer to load, but I rarely do that.

First time I've ever put this much mulch in the trailer, and the trailer/truck hardly even noticed! If I could fit more, I bet I could easily carry around closer to 15 yards!

15 yards of mulch is roughly 12,000lbs
