Kohler ID #'s

I have a 27 hp, kohler on a tank, 2004. The ID label is missing, and I never recorded the motor numbers, is there anywhere else on the motor you can find them? I need to get a oil sending unit that goes on the breather plate, located below the carb, in the V of the motor. Does anyone know where I can get one, the dealers all say the need a ID #, to get the right one, I would have not thought there were many different ones on a later year kohler. Thanks

Part number 27 099 27-S fits 674 different model Kohler engines, It's safe to say Kohler didn't build 674 different variations of their 27 hp engine so this part number has you covered. Most parts counter help has little experience in parts look-up just like your chain auto parts stores, A experienced counter person could have picked up on the above had they even tried....
