So I live in Cincinnati Ohio and I'm still looking to expand my business however I'm concerned that I'd have difficulty expanding my business because people have already hired others to cut there lawn, or is this not the case. Do you guys find it possible to still pick up customers at this time? Also do you think its worth the advertising money to put up fliers and what not, now?

I still get calls daily but it has slowed down a lot early spring and mid summer when it gets hot are the best time to get new customers. There is nothing wrong with advertising all year but I wouldn't spend a lot of money.

Wow, I'd love to be getting calls everyday, I'm just trying to pick up 1-5 more lawns and I'll be set for the year, what exactly are you doing for advertisement?

We picked up about 10 or 11 accounts last week this week seems to have slowed but were having trouble getting back to them with all the rain we have been hit with. Get your name out there and advertise they can't call you if they don't know who you are. Then evaluate your advertising is it working am I getting the results I want if not change it up and try another rout we used 3 different places this year. Our first one was a dud second was so so and of all things the home town paper worked well this year. We get 5-20 calls a day it seems not all are new work some are our own clients and some are just crap but you sort through it and see what you get but you can't do that if they don't know to call you.

Never too late! I hear it every year about this time, others way over book and cant keep up so customer looks for LCO that will show up. Your area might be different but it seems like I get calls about 1-2 months into the mowing season for this reason, The only problem for me is I am usually full by then:hammerhead:

Like i tell everyone word of mouth is the biggest thing. Take pride in the lawns you have and more will come. I don't spend much on advertising. I did do more this year then years past because I thought this was going to be a bad year.
