Holy hell, that's fast, what a price tag though.
And you need a fair size skid steer to handle the weight.

Those are fancy units and look like alot of fun if you have a mountain of wood. I have set my sights a little lower......there are hydraulic splitters that will fit a skid or 3 point 40 hp tractor for $2,500 that will split up to 30" pieces......since I am just looking to do it at my ranchette, that's the way I am headed, but I would love to have the boobcat all-in-one max. set up.......

It's wicked cool but maybe overpriced because I don't think it really can do that much production wise.

This is all I want. It is heavy duty and doesn't cost as much plus it doesn't use all that diesel that a skid stear would if I put a simple hyd. splitter on the front.

Yeah it does not make much sense to have a 80+ hp diesel running wide open just to split logs.

That is cool but I think I'd just go to my local Fleet Farm to get a less expensive splitter.

Pretty wicked, but there is a very small number of guys who would give that kind of coin for one. A simple splitter works fine for most of us.

There was an ad on the local Craigslist, a guy with his firewood processor would come in and go through your cord wood for $30 an hour. It said he could do a full semi load of wood in eight hours, so for $240 it could be cut and split. I thought that was a good deal, all you have to do is stack it up.

Does he need a certain length and diameter log to run through that processor? Most of my fire wood is different shapes and sizes out of the woods and can vary.

Around here there is a lot of loggers that sell wood for firewood. The stuff I've seen is roughly 8' long and 12-18" in diameter. Most of it is pretty straight. The logger will back up and offload and then you have the processor guy come in and do his thing.
