Was that the company you were talking about awhile ago? Their stuff looks nice.
There is a landscaper here that is having a complete auction on Monday. They won awards for stuff and were in a very booming area, weird that they wouldn't make it.

yeah this is them, Almost all of their equipment was year 2002 or newer, most excavators were 04's and newer.
Geez- just took me over an hour to go through everything- quickly too!
So where is a good place to stay down there Chris?

That's my auction company! Their North Franklin, CT location is the one I hang out at.
I was considering going down there to bid on a few CAT dozers, but I just don't have the capital right now. Let me know how the D6s and D3 or D4 non-LGP machines bid if you can.

I'll try to print off a auction list if I can with the selling prices when its done.
Just toying with the idea now. In the coming years I hope to be visiting that area more often as I eventually plan to do some work down there. I loved the area when I picked my truck up down there.

That's some nice equipment. Usually you don't see companies that big with that new of equipment. Are they going out of business or just downsizing?

I don't know, probably grew too fast and when the housing boom stopped they ran out of work. Kinda hard to pay for it all when there's rust 1/2" deep on the blades of 2004 model equipment.
It will be interesting to see what all this stuff goes for.

Nice clean looking equipment. Sad to see a big company go down like that but its just the sign of the times.
I bet most of that equipment will go overseas especially the hoes and dozers.
The trucks will probably go cheap the other stuff like the Volvo 40 and 35 ton trucks will sell for a good dollar. The 40 ton volvos are or were in demand they are used in mining operations because they move faster than haul trucks.

According to a quick google search story, at one point mid last year, the company was owed $5.2M in payments from three different developers.
Something tells me this situation did not improve overall.

Can you pick me up one of the 2005 K-whopper tractors, the crusher and a trailer big enough to move it back to ks? If everything goes real cheap maybe get one of the service trucks, i always wanted an airpak. I have a total budget of 20k, 38k if i can sell my pickup by the end of week.
I don't know if i would want to see the prices, it would make me think too much.
On a side note, never let a developer get into you for more money than you can afford to loose. I know a few guys that lost their companies that way.

So I went to the preview today, got to play on a bunch of different equipment. A cat 345 CL is very fun to run, had to slip the mexican a few bucks but I was hogging invisible dirt and loading it into a imaginary truck like a pro! I'll post the videos later. Running a D8 dozer... well I suck, its bigger than my komatsu. I couldn't find the throttle on the 953 loader. those D5's were a little sluggish. I liked the PC 300. A cat backhoe with pilot controls is confusing, but all in all I had a blast!

Just wait Chris, once you've been in a hoe 40 tons and larger, the addiction only gets worse. I keep oogling the fairly new PC600 we have on the project I'm on, I'd really like to have a go on it one of these days. I've played around on a 600 for a few minutes but would love to run one for a day. My buddy who works for the same outfit I do says we have a 1250 Komatsu somewhere, I'm gonna have to do some sniffing around to find it. D8's are fun, but after about 3 hours it's all the same. Finish dozer is where it's at, I spent some time on a near new D5K LGP earlier this week and it's quite the dozer for its size.

That's awesome. Yeah man I believe Cat made the change from the old school throttle lever above the decelerator to the switch on the dash when the series II R's came out. We have an older R at work and it still has the lever, I believe it's a series I unit.
Some good looking stuff there, that long reach is appealing.

Yeah the D6 down the row from it still had the lever above the decelerator. I was good to go on playing with that one haha. yeah I also played on the long reach excavator too. If only they needed some pond work done onsite:laugh:

Nice, it's tough to beat a 6R in the fun department. As much as I like the 5K, I still am a softie for a 6R with a 6 way blade. Finishing capabilities with bulk pushing power, best of both worlds.

Holy Cow Batman! Way way too much yellow iron being dispersed. Kinda makes me shutter a little bit.......the long term effect of this much stuff happening all over depresses prices even more........wish I was there, that is a candy store of the first degree!
