I was tired of my backpack sprayer leaking on me and after changing the
o-ring a time or two I decided to find what the problem was. Come to find out that the top of the tank sealing surface was not perfectly flat these pics show how I checked it and fixed it. I had all the tools on hand and the fix took only about 10 minutes. Tools used were a 4" angle grinder and a cutting disc (this is not a grinding disc).

This is the cutting disc that was used.

This is checking the tank top after grinding.

This how the cutting disc was used, a cutting disc was used because it is larger in diameter and the cut is less aggressive than a normal grinding disc. The grinder was turned on in 1 to 2 second intervals to ensure the material being removed and heat was kept to a minimum.

That looks like a SOlo sprayer and no BS....I was at Wilco Farm Supply just yesterday and the manager and I got into a discussion about backpack sprayers as I had mentioned I bought a battery operated Sureflo. We talked about QC and he told me he had a whole pallet of Solo sprayers he was sending back for the very reason you have shown us in this post. The other reason it came up is that I told him Sureflo uses NO, NO O ring or gasket on their lid and it is plastic to plastic and doesn't leak or drip at all like SOlo's do.
