Ditch Mowing

About how long will it take to mow a ditch 2500' x 75' with a toro z 62" cut? The ditches are pretty flat and wide open with little or no trees.

TNT, if my calculations are correct thats about 5 acres, depending on the seson should take about 1hr -1 1/2 hrs. tony

I think that's 4.3 acres, but the 1.5 hrs should be about right unless it is rough ground or heavily overgrown. I have the Toro 62" with the 23HP Kohler engine. I have to slow down a good bit if the grass is really overgrown and tough to cut.:)

How does the words "ditch", "flat", and "wide open" work in the same sentence?

A ditch would be where water drains, ya know incline?

Flat would be, well flat.

Otherwise less than 2 hours trimmed and blown.

It sounds like this may be next to a major roadway. Don't forget about trash, tires, wire and all the other "goodies" you will have to deal with.

Oh and don't forget about rain which equals wet, which equals mud, which equals a mess.

in my opinion a ditch is going to take longer than normal mowing . how much longer depends on the ditch.
also wet weather may put u in a real time consuming hurt.
u might look at the flex deck thing here on lawnsite.
sounds like it might be made for u.
what u described sounds like tapered area for water run off.
