Shutting Down

Have a 2004 John Deere LX 255. Shuts down. May run five minutes. May run and hour. Providing I relieve pressure from the gas line, pump to carb. This tractor will fire back up.:confused. Can anyone help?

Sounds like vapor lock to me. Take a paper clip, a needle, or tooth pick and clean out the vent hole in the gas cap. Also when it shuts down pull the spark plug and see if you're getting spark, if not replace the ignition module or the spark plug, if you are getting spark then never mind.
