Below are pictures of a project involving putting a full size window in our basement. For the wall we used Allan Block. Neither of us has ever built a wall like this before and I think it turned out pretty well. It is also really neat to feel a breeze when you are sitting in the basement.

There is adequate drainage in the well. We put a tarp down over it when I jackhammered through the wall. Also, there is about 5 inches from the bottom of the well to the window. Thanks for the compliments.

What did you do for a header, or were the joists running parallel to the wall you put the window in? If they weren't, I see a treated piece of wood, but to me that looks like the sill plate under the bandboard/rimjoist. My mark II eyeball scale says that is probably a 3/0 5/0 approx. window, so probably at least one joist ties into the bandboard over top of the window, meaning that a bearing load is over the window.
The SRW window well looks really good. For peace of mind, I think I might have hand dug down the extra 2' and tee'd a drain directly into the draintile.

The joists are running parallel to the window but we put a header in as well. The vertical supports for the window are 2x12 so they are also supporting the wall. The window is a 3046, you were close. Basically, everything you said is what our situation is. Below is a picture of the header. That ties into the window's box outside.
