exmark diesel 72" bad head gasket?

just wondering, one day i noticed my exmark diesel was leaking...pretty much peeing a stream of oil out of the side of the engine, i couldnt exactly tell where it was coming from

i started it up to get back on the trailer, and noticed the oil leak stopped...

when i got home and into the shop i noticed a hint of water in the oil, i took the head off and the gasket looked sorta ok

any other reason this might be happeneing? or should i just do a new gasket and see if i notice any other leaking?

Water in the oil will probably give it away that the head gasket is going out. Water is getting into the oil and partly passing the piston and some is probably burning also. I would go with a new gasket and go from there. Good luck.
