is it bad, when i fertilize my lawn to do it with my hand. Are the chemicals to strong for me to use my bare hand? Should I be using a machine?

its deffinitly not a good idea. you should atleast have on a chemical resistant glove. also you cant get proper coverage spreading it out that way.

not a good idea with combo products. I've done this with straight ferts on "devil strips" (but wash your hands soon after). They're just salts. But still be conscious of what you are using and how your using it! If you're just a homeowner,,,,, yikes. get a spreader dude!

Go to a garage sale and buy a spreader for $2:dizzy: Doing it by hand will leave a very uneven green pattern.

Probably just trolling. There are a lot of other more practical uses for that hand.

i find that if i take an back pack like for camping and cut a hole in the bottom, fill it with fert. and put it on backwards. i then walk the lawn while moving my right hand(you can also use the left) back and forth under the hole it spreads the fert very nicely.
