Trying to identify this bush. Very fregrant flowers from mid to late May.Located NE PA.Looks Willowish except flowers do not form candle, just small bunches among leaves which have silvery undersides.These are wild and very noticable because of the silvery/white look to the bush (<10 ft) and when flowering the smell is very stong(sweet). The lower growth does have long thorns. Thank you
I would like to use these as a property break.

Crab, that sounds a good possibility.

Autumn Olive is a non-native invasive species. Some states have banned the use of them because of this. These were once favored for road side revegetation because they took so well. Now they are noted for taking too well and displacing other plants from re-seeding.

I looked up autumn olive and thats what it is. Thank you for you help. Guess I will have to find something else to plant. Really liked the fragrence and apearance of the bush.
