This tree has been a real nightmare. I cannot believe how much of a pain in the buttocks this thing is! I will be renting a 660 from Taylor Rental next friday and borrowing my friends MT55 Tracked Mini-Bobcat to finish this POS off.

Looks like a lot of firewood.

I am not hauling this away. Just cutting and stacking against the fence.

I under-estimated the size of the main trunk and so it is really become a white whale for me!

If anyone needs firewood, you are welcome to this. I will even help splitting it.

Too bad you don't have a miller around there that you could have contacted to come and get the trunk and the larger limbs. There are people around these parts with their own mini saw mills that are always looking for nice big specimens such as this to cut their own boards from.

That main trunk is worth $$$!!!! That is large enough for table tops, wood sculptures, etc, and is worth plenty! Don't hack it up!

Wow that's some tree! Did you know the famous, Boston, warship "Constitution" was called "Old Ironsides" because it was made from Live Oak??

They are a dime a dozen here. Not worth squat. Not even paying enough to make it worth the job being finished but I have to finish it up to keep my good name in the community.

Up here, that trunk is worth about $600. Not worth enough to ship, but man...

no its not.....do you guys NOT see the severe rot that was in the branches??? I can see rot in the trunk to....that tree isnt worth a dime and even for fire food its pretty shoddy...

cuttinitclose I think you're refering to a MS200T professional climbers/arborist saw that little guy goes for around $650ish and has a ton of kick.....I have 2

ohhh just reread your question cuttinitclose....that looks to be a maybe 250 or 280 model?

All those saws are:

025
200T
290
361

The 250 is actually more useful than the 290. What a bummer the 290 is.

And yes the main trunk is chock full of huge beattle larvae. The ones like Bear Grylls eats.
