wright5223,

If it looks like the demand is there, these options are sure to be considered. Now that the 27 and 31hp are on the ZK they become a consideration and EFI will probably show up in the next couple of years throughout the industry. Honda has been looked at on smaller models but ultimately it will be consumer demand that decides their use.

Well..i'd like to see a 19 hp. option on the Wright stander 36. And at least a 23 hp on the 48. These are the regular type standers..not rapid hgt. Also more Blade tip speed To. Like 19,000-19,500

I put a 25 hp Kohler Command Pro with a 27 hp camshaft on my 52" fixed deck Stander (they used to be an option, and bolts up fine--it is about 50 cc bigger than the 25 hp Kawasaki)--I haven't encounter any height of grass that can bog down this engine, even mowing at full speed. It burns about 0.95 gallons per hour (the 17 hp Kawasaki it came on it burned about 0.8-0.85 gph--the same Kaw on my 36" burns about 0.7-0.75 gph). I've only put 100 hours on it so far, but it seems to be a good engine.

Does anyone know why Wright stopped putting Kohlers on the fixed-deck-Standers?

For shade-tree-mechanic conversion, the FX series 27-31 hp Kawasaki present a problem because they do not seem to come in 1" crankshaft diameters, and appropriate exhaust manifolds do not exists off-the-shelf. You could probably get by with a ZK exhaust manifold.
