Is there anyone on here who does only weedeating? I was thinking about an ad saying I will do weedeating. I was thinking this might get me some one time business or maybe more. Has anyone tried this?

I have a customer that I just edge for. If your just starting its a good way to get your name out.

I have three customers that I just line trim for. Like DaughtryLC said, it's a good way to get your name out, however, if the lawn looks like crap, then maybe you don't want your name attached to it, lol.

Bad idea to advertise for it.

No. I don't really like the way they taste.

The problem I see with doing just string trimming, is if you schedule them in a way that best suits your route and they happen to not be consistent on when they mow.
Now edging wouldn't be a problem, but I don't like to trim unless the lawn has been mowed first.

I have one account I just string trim for, and another I just edge for.

The string trimming acct takes 1 guy 3 hours to do. My edging acct is right across the street and takes about 45 minutes. They are LARGE properties. Both are done EOW.

I explained the schedule to both of them, and they are OK with it.

These will be the ONLY 2 accounts I do this for.

I offer brush clearing. I will clear overgrown areas with a chainsaw and trimmer equipped with a blade or heavy string. Sometimes a walk behind brush cutter for big areas. I will not just weedwack arond flower beds and such for someone though.

That would suck pretty bad to wake up in the morning knowing your entire day...heck, entire week will be all whippin.

I'm sorry but what a waste of time. UNLESS your right next to a customer you do everything for why would you waste your time traveling just to edge or trim? But I guess if they are willing to pay then more power to ya! But I honestly don't think you would get enough, if any calls.

i did it a few years ago for a neighbor that just moved here and bought a brand new mower but no weed eater... i i think unless its within walking distance it would be hard to make money doing it on an average lawn.... because they more than likely wont want to pay the price to make it worth your time an fuel to get there... most of my "in town" or close to home lawns i would charge probably 85% of the cost to mow if i had to make a special trip each week to do it.... otherwise it wouldn;t be worth it
