I think you had too many beers during the project to hold the camera still

You know that you need to post pics of the stripes. So lets see it!

That looks good. I was gonna do a similar build to my Great Dane chariot but with longer and thinner flaps.

I think it may wear down quickly. (Just guessing) So if it does wear quickly I'd widen the striper.

What you may experience is with it being that narrow you will have to cut at a low height for it to bend the grass.

Glad to see you are thinking about making your own.

The use of the flap is a good idea. What I dont like is the fact that it is rigid to the deck. Too much of a chance of ripping the deck apart if you catch on something. With hinges you can make it lower and increase the striping. I wouldnt worry much on the wear factor. My WB's all have the factory drag mat and I have yet to wear one out before a motor. I think the key is hinges.

I was afraid that using hinges wouldn't apply enough force to actually bend the grass. Also what would happen when I back up. The flap may get pushed under my deck and the blades would chew it up

All of my striping kits are touching the ground before I lower the deck giving it plenty of down force on the the rubber. The more you bend the better effect you will get
