I am looking for a recommendation on a homeowner pressure washer. I will be using the pressure washer about 10 times a year for cleaning the exterior of the house, cleaning concrete driveway, deck, patio, etc.
I have done some research and two most important components are the engine and the pump. Here are my choices so far...
1.RIDGID Model# RD80701, 3000 PSI, 2.6 GPM, Commercial Grade CAT PUMP, Subaru SP170 engine. Priced at Home Depot for $549.00
2. RIDGID Model# RD80746, 3000 PSI. 2.6 GPM, Direct drive 3-piston axial cam pump with brass head, Subaru SP170 engine. Priced at Home Depot for $379.00
3. Dewalt DPD3100, 3100 PSI, 2.8 GPM, DEWALT oil-free triplex high pressure pump, DEWALT 196 cc OHV commercial engine. Priced at Home Depot for $550.00
Please advice which is the best choice...

Go with the Dewalt, I have the 3800psi 4gpm. I had the Ridgid 80701 it will not stand up to the use you will put it through. The Dewalt has been great.

my only advice is to make sure the pump is servicable. I've got an excel with honda motor and an econo pump. Motor is great, the pump is another story. When it finally dies (as it is close) I will be replacing it with a Giant pump that is servicable.

I'd go with the first option if you have the cash. I have the second ridgid one you listed with the AR axial cam pump. Its a great machine. I use it around the home and it has plenty of power and the AR pump is a decent axial cam pump. I found that the exact same pump would cost around $150 when it craps out. The only difference with the new 3000 machine is that they replaced the axial pump this year with the cat pump. Some folks complained about draining the oil on the new Ridgid 3000psi as ridgid moved the engine over a bit to fit the cat pump. Now the oil drain hole in the frame doesn't line up. Same engine, better pump, messier oil changes unless you get one of those drainzit hose adaptors. The subaru engine is a pretty nice engine easy to start.

After much research, I went ahead and purchased the Ridgid model with the CAT pump. Someone has returned a unit at Home Depot and the manager was able to take $175 off and the orginal warranty is still intact.. The unit is in brand new shape.. Started it the other day and everything is working to perfection.

How is that model holding up for you?
They have a few display models at my local HD for $434 that are faded from sitting in front of store for a year
They also have a 3500psi 3.2gpm dewalt with general pump for $599 was $799
Seems like a good deal for either with full warranty and all

I would get whatever coes with a Honda engine and a general or cat pump.I have a Honda powered with a general pump on it and it has close to a thousand hours on it and it still starts 2nd pull.
