Portor Cable 5.0 pressure washer I had this happend to me today.
I have a 5 hp pressure washer about 2 years old.
I was washing today at moms house her steps..
I had been going about 30 min I was turning around and just happen to be looking at the unit.
I saw 2 of the four bolts holding the pump on sheared off?? I mean I SAW the bold come out and water shot everywhere
I sheared the top boldts OFF..
I took off the other 2 bolts to take off the gold part that you connect the wand to.
I then had to take off the pump houseing to get to the shear bolt end. I drilled it and was going to do a easy out but it was soft metal and would not come out.
seemed it was going to just dig through and not turn. I then took off the 4 bolts to remove the whole thing from the engine.
Im going to have to take it to work and have a guy try to get it out of make a bigger hole.
You know the details now THE QUESTION IS
What made the bolts sheared. In looking at the inside of the pump there are 3 bearing looing things that cover the wholes. I noticed that the O rings were half on and off,
How do I figure out what caused it to happen
How do you tell pump damage
