My Gravely 52xdz stalled on me going up a hill. I tried to start it again while on the hill and it started to sound weaker and weaker until it no longer turns over. It will click but the engine will not turn over is what I mean. I have it back on level ground and changed the plugs. The old plugs did not have any oil on them but they were showing signs of being fouled. Any help here would be great.

Starter might be going out.

First thing to check is if you have a weak or almost dead battery, or you might have a loose battery connection.

If it was a steep hill, you could have starved the internal parts of oil :wall Hopefully not though. I doubt that the starter will be the problem if it turned over well, and your battery probably just lost its charge. Try spraying starting fluid or carb cleaner down the air intake on the carb and then cranking on it. If it won't jump on the starting fluid at all, then you have some serious problems.

Also, it would be helpful to know the engine, brand, hp, and model of the engine.
