Hello,

Well I might be in need of getting one of my rubber tracks repaired or replaced due to working in my pond and creek where rocks do havoc on them. Well to make a long story short I ripped a steel tooth right out of the rubber casting which is where the sprocket rides. First do you think that by having one tooth missing will cause the track to roll off in half? Next does anyone have experience in having one repaired adn where and at what costs? Oh another question... Can you just change over from rubber tracks to steel tracks with minimal changes? I know there are alot of questions but do need some answers. ha,ha. Thanks people

You'll experance alot more wear on that track and you'll have to adjust it more. I would look at replacing it soon. Mainly because it will carry dirt into the sprocket causing wear.

Thanks Paul for the info. I believe I will run the thing until she peels the track and then sit there stranded until I buy another. I have several quotes for rubber tracks and also for the conversion from rubber to steel rails but will make up my mind later. ha,ha. Anyway it might last all summer (I wish) or tomorrow but anyhoooo. I was told that I should keep about 2 to 3 inches of slack in rubber tracks. What does everyone think about that? In the manual it states .5" but when told about the 2-3" play it kinda made sense too. Hmmmm??? Later
