Hi,
I have a scag 3-wheel rider. It has the Kohler 22 hp engine. Recently the battery won't hold a charge so I need to use the battery charger in order to get it to start.
Something might have gone wrong with my battery charger because it started smoking. (I might have ruined the charger by using it to electrolytically remove rust from some old tools)
So I have another battery from my tractor and I hooked that up. The Scag started right up.
I started to mow my lawn and about 1/2 hour in, it cut off. I noticed that the top 20 amp fuse in the two fuse block behind the control panel had burnt out.
I changed the fuse and it started right up again.
I did notice that the amp meter is reading rather high, I've never seen it go to the +10 reading before. The machine runs well but the reading concerns me.
What should I check? Could the faulty charger have messed something up?
In advance, thanks for your help and suggestions.
