I changed the oil on sunday. I ran the mower for about 1/2 hour on monday and everything seemed fined. Tried to run it today and it sounded unusal like a muffler problem, or like it was in choke, but it wasn't. Tried to run it more but it barely did. It limped around just enough to get it back on the trailor. Any ideas? Hope its not the valves. Any help would be appreciated.

When you say that it could be a murrler problem are you hearing any unusual noises in the muffler. I can remember from my time in a shop situation that we saw baffles in the muffler break loose and block the outlet. I would not say that is your problem--just something to consider. It certainly doesn't hurt to check valve lash, particularly if they haven't been adjusted in the last 300 hours.

dealer mechanic looked at it quick today. He felt for heat around the exhaust on each side. He said only half the engine was firing. Could be a couple different things. Hopefully I get it back 4 weeks or less.

Plan on buying a new motor. Most of the time the rebuilt cost almost as a new one.

Take the plug out and put a wood dial in hole and rotate the motor over. This will tell you if both cyclinders are still attached. Our just dropped one side it apparently broke loose from crank. Got new engine:cry:

I was thinking the same as you guys but he thought it could be plug or plug wires. I say no because I Looked at them and they visually appear fine. He named a couple others I can't think of. I probably have 2,500 hours or so on it.
