What should you pay contract work for doing bushes/shrubs?

We are getting so far behind on our work for our customers (can be a good thing) that we are considering a young man as contract work to help us with triming bushes and shrubs. What is the going rate for contract work ? We do not want to pay by the hour, but looking at a percent.

We are responsible for dumping the clippings and we don't have any place to just get rid of them. Dumb fees are ourtageous.

I think your in a catch-22. If you pay him by the hour he may try and milk it,unless you know how many hours it should take.If it's a flat fee he may just go and butcher everything up, so then you may have to put someone on to watch him.

Look for any place that makes mulch. Almost any large supply company will take your scraps. The place I use makes cheap mulch out of it. As long as there is no plastic or metal with the clippings it is only $10.00 for a tandem trailer load of almost anything I take to them to dump.

You can check out Missouri Organic, they are up on 40 hwy west of I-70 drive in. I usually go there, it's closer than taking it up to the Courtney Ridge dump on 291. Not sure of prices exactly, but for a full size truck filled to the top of the bed is about $20, trailers vary by size. I get my bulk mulch from them also, about $23/yard for dark brown.
