Didnt buy a ZTR but instead I bought a small tractor with a belly mower on it. The BX2360, I have 40 acres to take care of and already have a 4900 Tractor but I just never felt confortable buying a 10k mower that all I could do is cut grass with. Overall it will better suit my needs IMHO.

Nice machine! If you don't mind, what did it cost out the door?

Nice looking little tractor. Kubota makes some good ones! I wish they would go to a twin-touch style hydro pedal like JD, Case, and others have. At least they got rid of the "treddle" (i call it trouble) pedal--one long U shaped pedal for forward and reverse. I never liked that style of pedal. Have fun getting it dirty, but don't neglect cleaning it up again!

The guy who bought the airport I keep my plane at did the same thing, bought a tractor with a mower and even a bush hog, since he figured it would do some many more things for him. After about a year of mowing with it I loaned him my Scag and he cut the grass in about half the time it took him with the tractor, He didn't think a ZTR mower would cut any faster than his tractor would with the same size deck, but it does. He ended up keeping the tractor and buying a used ZTR to use for mowing

nice you can put a nice little backhoe on it and do some real nice work with it with out tearing and denting up the grass like a bigger hoe will!

Yeah, I know the ZTRs have the speed and that does play a heavy role in buying. Im like most and deal with alot of duties to do and limited funds so Ive got to buy a happy medium. I wanted a ZTR trust me lol, I just hated to spend the money. I love PWCs too but dont like paying for something that I would use just for 4 months out of the year, kinda like a ZTR.

you could probably put another offset finish mower behind the tractor and mow twice as much at one time.

Ive got a finishing mower for the 4900 that can be put behind the 2360 but its not offset.

I didn't know the grass only grew for 4 months in Bama, what do lco's do the other 8 months? BTW, nice looking tractor, but I'd would have bought the ztr. Less time mowing=more time for family or beer or both.

If he's maintaining 40 acres without a lot of obstacles to mow around and mows in a circle pattern instead of up and down rows at about the same speed (8 MPH for example) and same deck size as a ZTR he would save little time using a ZTR over the tractor. Plus if his property has some steep hills or has some rough bumpy areas a tractor is much better suited for this, with 4WD especially. Also he can pull a offset finishing mower to increase his cutting width.

I have, on more than one occasion, seen a LCO using a garden or compact tractor on a property with steep hills with thier ZTR sitting on the trailer.

He can do so much more with the tractor than just cut grass, more bang for the buck & he can hold his beer while doing it. :)

Nice tractor!!!!
I had a BX 2230 and loved it. I sold it when I moved from GA, kinda of wish I hadn't, they are very handy to have around.

I still cut grass a little before and after the 4 main months of grass growth but its not much.

I bush hog half of it with the 4900 and finish mower about a 1/3. The 2360 is used for aroung my house and my parents house and beside the driveways. Still alot of grass, I put over 6 hours on it over the weekend mowing those parts. Better than the close to 12 that it used to take.

With the insurance payment I was considering a larger ford tractor with front loader and three point on the back...ended up with the zero turn due to its mowing prowess. Since I mow every week. I hate spending half my saturday on the mower so the more quickly I can knock out my yard(s) the better.
