We are looking to buy a half ton truck and heard someone say that Dodge has an extended warranty for $1500(one time charge) to cover engine and power train over ????? mileage. Has anyone got knowledge of this?

Um not quite but close. They come from the factory with a lifetime powertrain warranty. But you have to do all the recommended services in the manual at the dealer...which will get very costly. So if youre going to keep it for years and years then it will be ok. But for a few years? Doesnt sound worth it.

It is also non transferable, so you have to buy the truck new. I believe you can get that warranty on the 3/4 ton Hemi trucks as well. Perfect for plowing if you're going to keep it for a long time.

That's nice if they went to the 2500 hemi now. When I bought last year the lifetime powertrain was only available on the 1500's. So I bought one---it now has 25000 trouble free miles on it. 1/2 of those were towing one of the lawn trailers. Dealer said we don't need to do all the maintenance with them but should keep reciepts when we get it done.

Youve got a great dealer then! And i guess theyve changed it cuz it used to be all gassers.

Unfortuntaly dodge doesnt warranty the Cummins, Cummins does.
