I am going to start doing mulch jobs and am wondering how much to charge and how to figure out how much mulch is needed to do the job?
Also how much to charge to pull the weeds out of the beds before you put the mulch down?

here is a start. When you are doing mulch with beds that are full of plants and such, it takes longer to do. If you do wide open spaces and are upright you use a lot more material. I find you probably need close to twice the amount of mulch over new fabric also.

I charge $80- $100 an hr.

Do a search on this subject. It comes up once a month and there has been plenty of discussion on the subject.

How much are you paying for that mulch? We only use triple ground and we sell it to contractors for about $25, obviously it is cheaper for double ground but that seems a bit low. We are getting about $80/yard installed which includes edging and weeding.

I charge $75 and weeding the beds is always extra, as for the edging, depends on how bad they are. If I can run through them pretty quick, its included in the 75, but if they need quite a bit of work, I will charge extra.

This is very true.

You can take what the cost of the mulch is per yard and make the spreading price be double the mulch price. Example, $30 a yard mulch would be $60 a yard to spread. If you have weeding or edging or pre-emergent to do along with the mulch add another $10-$20 to the already doubled price. So this would give you a grand total of $75-$80 per yard of mulch. This works for pros, but me being 14, I have to charge a bit less than this.

I charge approx $70 per yard (depending on if you can get your trailor to it or if you have to use a wheelbarrel)...also charge AT LEAST $50 per hour for weeds.
don't compromise your price because there's no fun in flowerbeds

I charge $90 per yard on the black and red and $80 on the natural color, for delivery and installation. I will discount $5 or $10 per yard sometimes depending on the situation (large area, good customer). I find that if I charge any less, I don't make as much as I would have mowing that day.
