This is my own personal yard, and it has a good many circular dead spots in it. I went through about 10 pages of this forum to try and find something similiar but didn't see anything that quite matched up. I have Scott's come out and do my fertilizing, and they say it is spring dead spots and to put sand in it. I did that about 2 months ago, but haven't seen any improvements. I have an iriggation system that I run every other night. I am located in Northeast Georgia and I am not sure what type grass I have. I would appreciate some guidance on how to resolve this issue.

A couple of things you can do is change your sprinklers to come on in the morning. Watering at night increases your chance of root rot. Also clear out that dead grass (thatch) and put some mulch or starter fertilizer in those areas to stimulate new growth , also have you had the soil tested?

Daily watering on clay? GA clay or is this a different soil?

I can't really comment on southern grasses but it seems to me most grasses would not require a daily watering whether north or south. I am sure your fungal diseases love it though.
