Anyone have any experience using or Driving the Bobcat A300 All Wheel Steer Loader? I've seen them in person but never drove one. Always been fascinated by them. Just wanna know the performance and and such.

Good solid machine. Excellent on turf but a little on the expensive side. It is a follow-on to the initial A220.

This Bobcat Dealer in Wayland (about 130 miles West of me) gets in an A300 for time to time. Usually between 400-650 hours on them, Gold Package (Cab, Keyless start, Power Bob-Tach), year usually between 2003-2006 model. And depending on the Condition, he sells them for between $23,500-$27,500. Pretty cheap for an A300.

We rented this A300 for a clay tennis court job.
If you are working on a finished surface the AWS machine is the way to go. I would like to try one for snow removal, the 2 speed is impressive.

I have a tennis court builder who has two of them and loves them. When the housing market was busy. I had one customer with 14 A300's. I miss the good ole days...

What were your impressions of the pilot controls?

If we were to get an A300, I'd have to get used to the Pilot controls because we'd always use AWS mode. I've been working with a Case for 2 1/2 years, so yeah.
Nice thing about the A300 if we got one we'd be able to replace our Case, and most likely the big 5310 also. But the he A300 is on my Skid Steers I have yet to Demo list.

14 A300's what were they used for?

The pilot controls are not something I would get for a skidsteer. For most regular skidsteer work the pilots are fine. When working in confined areas, next to objects or running attachments, I prefer foot controls.

When in Skid Steer mode on the A300, can you switch over to Case (H pattern) controls?

The A300 that I rented had ISO controls for both AWS and skid steer mode, not sure if H pattern is an option for the A300.

The A300 has ISO and H pattern modes. They are not pilot controls but E/H controls. cat just switched to this style with there joysticks (like bobcat).
The customer was hauling roof tile..

I have a 2007 A300 and for snow removal it is awesome, the best thing is you get full pushing power while you turn. With my old skid steer I ran tire chains and with the A300 I can push more snow without chains.
The controls are the same in both skid steer and all wheel steer mode, the left joystick drives/steers and the right joystick runs the boom/bucket. The only thing I don't like when in skid steer mode the reverse is backwards. When you move the joystick back and to the right you go in reverse to the left. The AWS mode works the right way and thats what I mainly use.

I traded my 02 B300 for one in january of this year
One of my better decisions
I use mine for snow plowing and hardscaping
I always use it in AWS mode.
the thing is that in snail and normal gear you have 4 wheel acrticulatied steerong and in high gear you two wheel steering.
I have put 250 hrs on it since January

We purchased a used A-300 just for finish work. I like the controls but you have to slow down when you get into tight areas. It won't respond the same way a pedal machine would. I also run into trouble when backing in skid mode. I have found though, that it is necessary to run in skid when working along side of a vertical surface. If you're in steer mode you can turn the weels right into whatever you're up against.

What do you use for plowing? I am looking at ordering a new one, fully loaded, in a few days.
I am considering the kage plow pusher.

I am in Marathon ONT, 400km northwest of Sault Ste Marie. I sent you a PM
Just wanted to bump the thread as I am looking at an A300 myself. 2006, 1000hrs.
Is there anything to do with the all wheel steer system a person should be concerned with or look for regarding failure points? Is anyone running turf tires on it? How are they for digging/grading.
I have bid a couple Golf Courses to do the pathway work and this seems like a good setup if the jobs come to fruition, easy on the course and my finish. Thoughts?

As far as problems go I haven't heard anything bad about the A 300. So far I have a 100 hrs on mine now. I went with the severe duty tires for my A300. I would stay away from the turf tires if you plan to do any snow removal. I am not quite sure how they would work in the dirt.

The only problems I have had with my A300 were general problems and not specific to the steering.

no problems on mine yet I have over 600 hrs. now and digging grading is the same as any skid steer of comparable size. but it is a heavy machine on turf. IMO turf tires would be needed on a golf course.
Thanks for your opinions. My 873 is giving me some grief. I am dealing with my Injectors and injector pumps at the moment, also Aux Hyd not working properly I think it's the Spool Valve? It's got almost 4000hrs on it. So maybe it's time to upgrade.
My work is basically Driveway and Pathway work. I don't do any snow removal except personal as the insurance cost exceeds the demand at this point in my business
I would be happier if there was a 185 with All Wheel steer but that's not the case. Dealer has floated a price of 30k for the A300. Decisions would be so much easier if I could just hit the lotto.

If you want a smaller machine they made an A220 but its no longer produced so if you wanted one of those you'd have to find a used one. Plus the 220 used the same motor as your 873 I think. Your has a Deutz right? Thats what the A220 used.
lol yeah everyones decisions would be easier if they hit the lotto
