Monday morning 7am, I hand the keys to the truck and trailer to my brother so he can go work for me today. 8am, Sitting in my ambulance doing my check off's and my phone rings. Seems he go the Z stuck on the back side of a 10 acre field I do every Monday. I knew where he was when he told me he was stuck cause the ground is always soft back there.
I tell him to unhook the trailer drive the truck along the fence line, and strap a pully to the oak tree in the corner then run the wench line to the mower and pull it out. Simple right? WRONG!!
10 min later phone rings again. Said there was not enough line in the wench so he moved the truck closer and before he knew it all 4 wheels were half covered in mud and truck was not moving.
Now my wench hooks to the truck by a 2 inch reciver hitch. I tell him to pull the wench and put it on the back bumper and pull from that way to unstuck the truck and then get the mower out, with out causing more damage to the lawn.
Phone rings again, tuck wont move, wench is smoking (grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr)
I call a tow truck, get charged 2 times, once to removed the truck and once to remove the mower. He did get the mowing done. But thats all he got done.
So my scheduled 730 dollar Monday cost me 250.00 to get my truck and mower out of the mud, and nothing else got done that day. Now I have to catch up Mondays work today, as well as todays work. Simple plan right? Guess whos relief called in sick to work today? All the part time EMS people are covering other shifts so I am here till 6pm.
Ever feel like your tryign to get out of a hole by digging it deeper?
