It cracks me up tho- they are in the worst part of the town. You always hear of shootings, stabbings etc. all within a few blocks of it. I am disappointed, when we learned they were coming we offered our services for the landscape end of it but we never hear a thing, not even a thanks but no thanks. Oh well hope it all works out. They actually build it less than 7 days, they havent even started any demo what so ever, just started cleaning it out late today. I just hope it doesn't end up like every other "new home" they have built around there, broken window's, graffiti, 3ft tall weeds. Some people just dont deserve nice tings because they dont appreciate them.

Yeah there was a family that won that in my town a few years ago. It was real nice and was paid off for them. 6 months later the family sold it, at a huge loss I'm sure, since it was the biggest house around. They took the cash and ran.

I was part of the hardscaping crew on a house in CT. The build was in Dec, it was COLD! I am still amazed at how quickly a paver driveway was laid, something like a 40'by 60' in less than an hour. Crazy fast. Basically, the work is done in a 7 day timeframe. There was a punch list and volunteers came back in April to finish work around the extremities. It was a really cool experience.

There was a house in Atlanta that the show rebuilt and they either lost the house due to unpaid taxes or ended up fighting over it and sold it!. SOME of the people that are in that situation are their due to their own stupidity and don't deserve the help. When they get the help they don't appreciate it fully.

The owners took out two mortgages against it to start a "business". It was going to the courthouse steps when some people felt sorry and raised money to pay it off. AFTER that, they took more money out against it and the house was auctioned within the last month.

Like said...some people just don't deserve anything because they abuse the hospitality and don't appreciate it.

Don't watch the show anymore due to those mentioned problems. At first they fully rennovated a rough house and seemed to help a family get that fresh start on the right path. As the show went on they completely demoed and built a house that was about 4 times what they needed. I bet many of the families barely cover the maint/utilites/taxes even if it is paid off. Bigger house always cost more to live in. It is kinda like giving a crack head junkie 25 dollars to get him on his feet.

Agreed.
First step is knowing how to manage money and if you are given without knowing how to manage it well, nough said.
