I tore down and pretty much "rebuilt" my 6x12 trailer, heres a list...
Paint
-4 Painstaking hours with the angle grinder w/ wire brush head
-1 coat rust oleum rusty metal primer
-1 coat rust oleum flat black
-Didnt like the flat black so i went and brought the semi-gloss black, looks soo much better.
-Yeah, ik, the wheels look like sh*t.
Wiring
-2 amber front lights
-Tail lights
-I.D. bar on the end
-Amber front reflectors
Hardware
-Galvanized and SS
-Replaced everything
Boards
-PT 2x8x12
-Sikkens
Great job, I wired LEDs to mine as well, 2 yellow-front, and two reds rear.
Looks awesome.....again great job....

nice looking trailer. i have one concern though, you didn't show any pics from right before the priming. how clean did you get the metal? the rusty metal primer is awesome but, if you get the metal too clean the paint can actually flake back off. it's happened to me before. the trailer really looks sweet though:cool2:

i dont think that will be a real problem i didnt really take any of the paint that was still there off, the grinding was more for the flaky rust and other crap

does it have a ramp?
yeah i took it off so it would be easier to paint, i also have a "custom" (homemade) tailgate assist system, I'll take pics tomorrow with the gate and assists on.
I'll be ordering the racks from trailerracks.com pretty soon

What kind of stain did you put on the trailer deck? Or is that just really nice doug-fer.

That trailer looks brand new. A tip for painting wheels fast and easy, take some Vaseline (light grease works too) and coat the tire all around avoiding the rim then just take your paint and go to town. Once dry wipe off the Vaseline and your tires are paint free.
I like that Polaris, I rode a Hawkye 300cc and loved it but I thought it was kinda slow.

It's actually pine with Sikkens on it. I'd be happy to get you the specifics tommorow if you'd like.

I wish I thought of that, when we painted the wheels it was the last thing we did after 3 coats of paint so we were kinda in a "eff it" mood. They still look way better then they did though :/

Sorry 'bout that! I didn't even leave the house today, it poured buckets all day. I'll be sure to have pics of it up tommorow afternoon at the latest.
In the meantime, all it consists of is an eye bolt holding one end of a garage door spring (25 bucks at home depot) then some steel cable attached to the other end of the spring. The cable runs to a second eye bolt at the other end then is attached to the gate. The spring is covered inside of a piece of galvanized pipe. However within the next couple days I will be replacing the second eye bolt that's near the tailgate with a dual pulley to make things even more smooth.

yea, it's ok I guess lol i've only gotten it stuck once and keeps up with my friends' four stroke dirtbikes (125cc and less). suits my needs pretty well, and now that i'll be driving soon and making more money, i know that i'll lose interest fast.
