cant remember the name but it spreads when you walk, ride, ect over it... sometimes you can crowed it out by over seeding but most of the time you have to kill and reseed... good luck

That doesn't look like any Poa Annua that I have ever seen!
Have you done some overseeding with a product that had some inert weed material in the bag? High quality seed companies will label the bag and display the % of inert weed material in it.
It is very difficult for me to ID in the photo!
Possibly someone can ID that from or near you area!
This weed possibly invaded through thin spots during the winter season. That is why I thought you may have reseeded some areas.
This really appears to be another type of turfgrass for your cool season lawn. But I dont believe it is Poa Annua!

If its annual bluegrass..you will see seed heads..they're just finishing about now. Could be poatrivialis as well. Doesnt really matter. Prolly on the wet side in that area for most of the year. ABG will die after seeding and can be controlled to some extent with an off label 3rd application of pre.

This is not going to look very good if you get rid of it:confused: We have almost got to the point that something green is better than nothing in our area so we stopped spraying for weeds.

If it is Bentgrass, I think a non-selective (round-up) is about the only option. I know Bent is not very hardy though, and I've seen it irridacated just by slice seeding over it in the fall. It dosn't compete well with good thick fescue/blue.
